Example propeller anode & ring anode for reliable protection

Here you can see the before picture, which shows the condition of the anodes before they were replaced.

 

This is a Volvo Penta D1-30 engine with a Volvo Saildrive folding propeller.

 

The 9230 anode is compatible with Volvo Penta VP023 and has the Volvo Penta references 3858399, 3584247 and 3858955. In addition, a 2-part Sail Drive anode is installed, which has the original part reference 358407 and is listed under item number 9244.

 

These anodes reliably protect the propeller from corrosion and therefore extend its service life.

 

Over time, the anodes wear out as they protect the propeller & motor from damage caused by electrolytic reactions.

 

The worn anodes shown here have successfully fulfilled their protective function.
